2/13/13 - Supportive, Caring People in my Life

Day #44 (2/13) of lucky 2013 was one of the longest, most tiring, emotional days in recent memory....cannot wait to get in my bed....but, before I do, I want to remember how lucky I am to have so many supportive, caring people in my life. From my wife, Sarah, who had to run all the evening events herself, and amazingly did it flawlessly, to my colleagues who accompanied me on campus this evening (thanks Dee, LJ, Kara, and Marianne!) to people who just called me ( Kathy Press) or who have emailed texted or FB messaged in the past few days - please know that, even if I have not expressed it, your support has been noticed and is appreciated. A lucky man, I am. Night all!

Day #152 of lucky year 2013 is 6/1/2013. Day #152 of 2004 was also VERY lucky for us. Anna Victoria Sherr was born and what a joy she is and continues to be! I am so proud of how she is growing up - she makes me laugh, she makes me see the good in life, she makes me so happy. 5/8/13 - Cleansing Rain

5/8/2013 - Day #128 of lucky year 2013. Today, I feel lucky for the cleansing power of rain. Sure, it was frustrating the way that Mother Nature played games with us today - sunny/pouring/sunny/sprinkles/partly sunny/POURING - but the rain seems to have washed away much of the pollen that has been causing me great nasal distress....so tonight, I am breathing better and for that, I feel lucky.

5/11/13 - Miss Shernoff's Wedding

Today was day 131 of lucky year 2013. Now, 131 is a palindrome so you KNEW it would be a good day. And it was, spent with family, meaning even more since I will be working much of the next two days (including Mother's Day) because of Graduation events.....I REALLY felt lucky tonight when Sarah and her mom, Winnie Walters were playing beautiful music at Miss Shernoff's wedding. Not only did their music move me (as it usually does), but I was able to see the joy in Anna and her friend's faces as they were able to attend the ceremony and see one of their favorite teachers get married. Best comment overheard "I am pinching myself so I know this is not a dream!" This pure joy is exactly what I feel a wedding should be about. And the music, and the girls' reactions brought that joy to the forefront. Amen!
