3/8/13 - Kids and Community

Today was Day #67 of lucky 2013 and it really was a lucky one! Got to participate in a couple of really good work events/meetings, but that is not why I feel so lucky tonight. Tonight, plain and simple, was for the kids and for the community. I feel lucky and blessed to live in a town where, on the same night, you can see all these people come out to Phillys Phatties to help raise money for Little League, while, next door, Sara O'Brien is introducing more kids to her Studi...o Lulu and getting them face painted so they can go off to OMAYSC Celebrity Gym night and play along side Rutgers Camden kids (many inner city themselves) and the Oaklyn Police Department all while the Mayor referees the games....I mean this is what COMMUNITY is all about and it was for the KIDS. And if you know me, you know I love kids and community, so I go to bed tonight exhausted, but pleased! #♥ Oaklyn

Day #152 of lucky year 2013 is 6/1/2013. Day #152 of 2004 was also VERY lucky for us. Anna Victoria Sherr was born and what a joy she is and continues to be! I am so proud of how she is growing up - she makes me laugh, she makes me see the good in life, she makes me so happy. It goes without saying that what I feel lucky for today is this beautiful daughter of mine.

5/8/13 - Cleansing Rain

5/8/2013 - Day #128 of lucky year 2013. Today, I feel lucky for the cleansing power of rain. Sure, it was frustrating the way that Mother Nature played games with us today - sunny/pouring/sunny/sprinkles/partly sunny/POURING - but the rain seems to have washed away much of the pollen that has been causing me great nasal distress....so tonight, I am breathing better and for that, I feel lucky.

5/11/13 - Miss Shernoff's Wedding

Today was day 131 of lucky year 2013. Now, 131 is a palindrome so you KNEW it would be a good day. And it was, spent with family, meaning even more since I will be working much of the next two days (including Mother's Day) because of Graduation events.....I REALLY felt lucky tonight when Sarah and her mom, Winnie Walters were playing beautiful music at Miss Shernoff's wedding. Not only did their music move me (as it usually does), but I was able to see the joy in Anna and her friend's faces as they were able to attend the ceremony and see one of their favorite teachers get married. Best comment overheard "I am pinching myself so I know this is not a dream!" This pure joy is exactly what I feel a wedding should be about. And the music, and the girls' reactions brought that joy to the forefront. Amen!
