4/15/13 - First Responders

Day #105 of lucky year 2013 did not seem, at 2:50PM today, that lucky at all. But, in this tragedy, watching the coverage, I DID feel lucky that there are first responders, at every crisis, that you can always see running TOWARDS the crisis, to save people, to help people, to make things better. I DO feel lucky that these people have chosen to be first responders, to be the helpers. I also feel lucky to live in a world where people use Social Media to reach out to those marooned in Boston, taking in strangers, to make the feel more comfortable, in uncertain times.
My prayers go out to all that were affected by the events in Boston today, those with friends and family in the area, those that were hurt, and especially the families of those who were killed. May God have mercy on their souls.

Day #152 of lucky year 2013 is 6/1/2013. Day #152 of 2004 was also VERY lucky for us. Anna Victoria Sherr was born and what a joy she is and continues to be! I am so proud of how she is growing up - she makes me laugh, she makes me see the good in life, she makes me so happy. 5/8/13 - Cleansing Rain

5/8/2013 - Day #128 of lucky year 2013. Today, I feel lucky for the cleansing power of rain. Sure, it was frustrating the way that Mother Nature played games with us today - sunny/pouring/sunny/sprinkles/partly sunny/POURING - but the rain seems to have washed away much of the pollen that has been causing me great nasal distress....so tonight, I am breathing better and for that, I feel lucky.

5/11/13 - Miss Shernoff's Wedding

Today was day 131 of lucky year 2013. Now, 131 is a palindrome so you KNEW it would be a good day. And it was, spent with family, meaning even more since I will be working much of the next two days (including Mother's Day) because of Graduation events.....I REALLY felt lucky tonight when Sarah and her mom, Winnie Walters were playing beautiful music at Miss Shernoff's wedding. Not only did their music move me (as it usually does), but I was able to see the joy in Anna and her friend's faces as they were able to attend the ceremony and see one of their favorite teachers get married. Best comment overheard "I am pinching myself so I know this is not a dream!" This pure joy is exactly what I feel a wedding should be about. And the music, and the girls' reactions brought that joy to the forefront. Amen!
